Shopping gurus predict that there will be prosperity around Black Friday this year, as families feel pressured to find the best specials before Christmas.

According to research by Vouchercodes, the total expenditure is expected to reach 9 billion pounds. But how good is the bargain offered?

Yesterday, which consumer watchdog? Published damn research and concluded that only one-tenth of the deals advertised last year were real savings.

The Paddington bear plush toy was originally priced at 30 pounds at Hamleys and will be priced at 18 pounds on Black Friday in 2020, which is its price until the new year. Today's price is 20.99 pounds.

Researchers analyzed the transactions of six retailers including Amazon, AO, Argos, Currys, John Lewis, and Richer Sounds and found that in the six months before Black Friday, about 184 of the 201 product prices tracked were the same. , And even cheaper.

But this does not mean that shoppers should feel that they have missed bargains.

Because today, an email survey revealed what happened after Black Friday last year, again proving that the number of one-time transactions that are truly worth a try is actually very small.

In the past 12 months, the pricing and discount products monitored by Mail included TVs, computers, and technology products.

There are also toys, kitchen utensils and popular beauty gifts.

Of the 27 items we tracked, half were found to be cheaper or equally cheaper at other times of the year.

For example, the price of a Kenwood Mixer sold by Argos will be reduced to £299.99 on Black Friday in 2020. But if shoppers waited for the Boxing Day promotion, they could have saved another £100.

At the same time, in John Lewis, the £299 coffee machine on Black Friday dropped to £249 on Christmas Eve.

John Lewis Original price: £899

Black Friday 2020: £659, lasting until Christmas

The other eight items, although they were the cheapest on Black Friday, were heavily discounted during the Christmas sale—again, most items are not as good as they seem.

Which one? Research warns shoppers to add a little salt when accepting "limited time" Black Friday offers.

"We have found time and time again that the vast majority of deals advertised on Black Friday are not as good as the marketing hype suggests, and many may be sold at the same or lower prices at other times of the year," "Which ?" said Lisa Barber, editor of home furnishing products and services.

She warned that to find real bargains, shoppers need to avoid impulse purchases and use price tracking sites for research.

Ossie Bayram of PriceSpy, a price monitoring website, added: “After the past 18 months, retailers are particularly eager for a good Black Friday and Christmas this year.

During the Black Friday earlier this month, we saw a price increase of 13%, and now it has begun to fall.

This may give the illusion of a Black Friday discount, but in reality, these prices are usually the same, if not higher than a few months ago.

At the same time, the following are the results of our own Black Friday survey. ..

Special deals that are not a day’s difference:

Its Black Friday price on shopdisney.co.uk remained unchanged during the Christmas period, and then fell further in the New Year.

Amazon’s Black Friday prices are better than other prices, but the £139 Christmas price tag is still cheap.

Black Friday is the best price on currys.co.uk, only £89 during Christmas and New Year.

An Amazon spokesperson said: "Price fluctuations

Black Friday just surpassed Robert Dyas' Christmas sale price of £79.99-which is also a good price cut.
